The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in the management team, focusing on developing staff and executing strategies that enhance brand reputation, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This position takes charge of store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Associate Store Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS STRATEGY

  • Exhibit strong business insight; align store objectives with organizational goals in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to create and adapt business strategies that drive growth across all product categories; communicate objectives to the team and monitor performance to achieve or surpass sales targets.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

  • Lead training initiatives for new and existing employees on company culture, product knowledge, customer service, and store policies.
  • Assist the Store Manager in implementing performance management tools, including conducting annual reviews to foster an engaging work environment.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for new team members and provide input on hiring decisions.

RESULTS ORIENTATION

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for operational outcomes, including payroll management, cash handling, and inventory oversight.
  • Guide the merchandising team to maintain visual standards, ensuring timely product presentation and store cleanliness.
  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures, including cash management and securing the premises.

LEADERSHIP

  • Embrace and promote new technologies and policies introduced in the store.
  • Communicate effectively with the management team to support business strategies and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Supervise the store team in the absence of other management members.

CUSTOMER FOCUS

  • Deliver an engaging shopping experience by modeling exemplary service behaviors and coaching associates on sales techniques.
  • Address customer concerns in alignment with company policies, collaborating with management on escalated issues.

AGILITY

  • Maintain the aesthetic and safety of the store in partnership with corporate support.
  • Ensure timely completion of store tasks by actively participating and guiding team members as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thrives in a dynamic environment, adept at managing multiple priorities.

  • Flexible availability to meet business needs, including evenings and weekends.
  • Capable of performing essential job functions, including lifting up to 40 pounds and engaging in various physical activities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive retail leadership experience with demonstrated skills in supervision and training.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
