Job Summary

The Assistant Manager - Property Operations will assist the Property Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our residential properties. This role requires a team player with strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills who can pay attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Property Manager with the overall operation of the building, including office management and administrative tasks.
  • Use property management software to print reports and enter re-certification information.
  • Create and maintain tenant files, applicant waiting lists, and transfer lists.
  • Assist with paperwork for housing applications and rent collection processes.
  • Assist with bank deposits and process invoices for approval.
  • Manage the building when the Property Manager is off-site.
  • Educate residents about and enforce compliance with regulations, lease provisions, and house rules.
  • Address tenant requests and disputes, and respond to building emergencies.
  • Support the Property Manager as needed.
Requirements
  • Pleasant and professional manner with a calm disposition.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise own judgment in problem-solving.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adjust to changing situations and work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and property management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with low-income/affordable residential property management.
  • Prior experience with property management software, such as Yardi Voyager.
  • Experience in affordable housing.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.
