Position Overview

As the Assistant Culinary Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Culinary Department's operations within a facility. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of a variety of food items, as well as developing daily menu offerings and their presentation. You may also supervise hourly staff and collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative menus and assist with procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Chef in managing budgetary controls and monitoring expenses for the account.
  • Assist in menu planning and creation alongside the Executive Chef.
  • Execute and manage catering events.
  • Implement new culinary initiatives in collaboration with the marketing and culinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  • Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, depending on formal education or training.
  • Catering experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in institutional and batch cooking is beneficial.
  • Thorough understanding of food and catering trends with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, food cost management, and presentation.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Willingness to engage in client satisfaction initiatives.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
