Job Summary

The State of Connecticut is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Marine Angler Survey Program Coordinator. This is a seasonal position that will work closely with our marine conservation team to support the development and implementation of a marine angler survey program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a marine angler survey program to collect data on recreational fishing activities in Connecticut.
  • Work with our marine conservation team to design and implement outreach and education programs to engage with the public and promote the importance of marine conservation.
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of data collected from the marine angler survey program.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including fishing industry representatives, conservation organizations, and government agencies.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to communicate the results of the marine angler survey program to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as marine biology, ecology, or environmental science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of marine conservation principles and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with fishing industry representatives, conservation organizations, and government agencies.
  • Knowledge of recreational fishing regulations and policies.

Working Conditions

This is a seasonal position that will work approximately 35 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays. The position will be based at our Marine Headquarters in Old Lyme, CT, and will require occasional travel to other locations in Connecticut.
