Student Support Services Specialist - ABA Therapist

LEARN Regional Educational Service Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Support Services Specialist - ABA Therapist to join our team in Niantic, Connecticut.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about providing school-based services to students with diverse needs. As a Student Support Services Specialist - ABA Therapist, you will work closely with our Behavior Coordinator and Student Support Services Administration to provide individualized support to students enrolled in our programs.

Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support: Prepare instructional settings and materials to support student programs.
  • Supervision and Assistance: Supervise and assist students in various settings, including classrooms and individualized programs.
  • ABA Programming: Implement strategies based on individualized education plans (IEPs), including data collection and analysis.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with inclusion setting staff and LEARN staff to ensure seamless transitions and effective programming.
  • Record-Keeping and Data Analysis: Maintain accurate records, including data collection and session notes.
  • Training and Development: Demonstrate and model program interventions to inclusion setting staff and assist in their training as needed.
  • Feedback and Evaluation: Apply feedback and training on ABA job performance given by lead BCBA or BCaBA.
  • Relationship Building: Establish supportive relationships with students while maintaining authority figures.
  • Health and Wellness: Assist with student toileting, feeding, and other health responsibilities.
Requirements

We are seeking an individual with the following qualifications:

  • Education: RBT certification plus one of the following: paraprofessional certification, associate's degree + paraprofessional certification, or bachelor's degree.
  • Certification: Current BACB Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and ability to maintain ongoing RBT certification.
  • Experience: Preferred experience working with children with autism or emotional/behavioral challenges and their families, as well as experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs.

LEARN Regional Educational Service Center offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
