Role Overview:

The Project Team faces numerous high expectations, and the Project Manager relies heavily on the Assistant Project Manager to ensure seamless project execution. This role is vital for maintaining project timelines, budgets, and overall success. The Assistant Project Manager is expected to be versatile and proactive, stepping in wherever necessary to facilitate project operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Administration & Scheduling

  • Assist in overseeing all project components to uphold schedules, ensure cost efficiency, and monitor budgetary allowances.
  • Act as the primary approver for invoices.
  • Understand and track necessary permits to ensure timely submission and approval.
  • Incorporate equipment and materials procurement schedules into the master timeline.
  • Serve as a cross-trained backup for the materials procurement process.

Site Setup & Support

  • Create and maintain a slip contact list throughout the project duration, managing pre-slip checklists effectively.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Assist in collecting and organizing concrete and compaction test results.
  • Prepare weekly jobsite progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, internal teams, subcontractors, superintendents, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all parties understand project expectations and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Engage in regular communication with the jobsite Superintendent.

Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience in project administration or the construction sector (internships included).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Develop an understanding of organizational processes while managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Continuously seek improvements for operational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn about the services offered by Todd & Sargent and develop a passion for our work.
  • Exhibit readiness to undertake any tasks assigned by the Project Manager.

Office Environment: Our office culture is casual, with most employees wearing jeans daily. We foster a family-oriented atmosphere, encouraging opportunities for employees to connect through various social events, including summer grill-outs, potlucks, picnics, and holiday celebrations.

Work Schedule: The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with an optional summer schedule of Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. There may be opportunities for flexible scheduling.
