Role Overview:

The Project Team is tasked with meeting high expectations, and the Project Manager relies on the Assistant Project Manager to ensure the seamless execution of projects. This role is designed to be adaptable, stepping in wherever necessary to facilitate project success. The Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial role in driving project outcomes, making their contribution vital to the overall effectiveness of the project team.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Scheduling

  • Assist in overseeing all project components to uphold timelines, ensure cost efficiency, and monitor budgetary allowances.
  • Act as the primary approver for invoices.
  • Understand and track any necessary permits, ensuring they are submitted and approved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the equipment and materials procurement schedule is integrated into the master timeline.
  • Serve as a trained backup for the materials procurement process.

Site Preparation & Assistance

  • Create and maintain a slip contact list throughout the project duration, managing pre-slip checklists effectively.

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as a secondary point of contact for collecting and organizing concrete and compaction test results.
  • Prepare weekly jobsite progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, internal teams, subcontractors, superintendents, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Understand project expectations and relay information to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with the jobsite Superintendent.

Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience in project administration or the construction industry (internships included).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of organizational processes while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement.

  • Exhibit a willingness to take on various tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.

Work Environment: Our office culture is casual, with most employees wearing jeans daily. We foster a family-oriented atmosphere, providing numerous opportunities for team bonding through social events such as summer lunches, potlucks, picnics, and holiday celebrations.

Work Schedule: The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with an optional summer schedule of Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. There may be opportunities for flexible scheduling.
