Chenega IT Enterprise Services (CITES) provides progressive technology solutions to federal agencies and the Department of Defense. Established in 2016 to serve federal clients CONUS, CITES has rapidly evolved into a leader in best practices for the modern federal enterprise.

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the maintenance and repair of Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) Equipment (both stationary and mobile), Radiation Detection, handheld NII, and RDE Equipment, along with other supported apparatus in the field under the CBP contract. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will also assist the Operations Manager as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate within various functional areas to assess current processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance business outcomes (e.g., cost savings, operational efficiencies, effective controls, etc.).
  • Plan and manage daily operations of the maintenance department focusing on safety, quality, and maintenance standards.
  • Lead the creation and execution of a reliability-based maintenance framework to proactively address equipment challenges.
  • Allocate personnel to scheduled tasks to maximize skill development and training opportunities.
  • Actively seek methods to minimize equipment downtime in field support, identify opportunities, and implement waste reduction strategies.
  • Oversee and guide work execution.
  • Review ongoing and completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards within the designated time frame.
  • Ensure that employees adhere to established procedures, produce quality work within time and budget constraints, and achieve expected outcomes.
  • Assist in defining business requirements, analyzing business cases, and developing project plans.
  • Anticipate potential issues and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Engage with contract managers and clients.
  • Schedule, direct, and supervise in-house repair technicians.
  • Evaluate estimates and quotes for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Identify quantities and types of repair parts and consumables needed.
  • Determine necessary tools and testing equipment for electronic technicians.
  • Assess training needs for electronic technicians.
  • Participate in status update meetings with managers and supervisory staff, and the Contract Office Representative (COR).
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for all electronic technicians.
  • Continue performing electronic technician duties as required.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to support the Operations Manager with other management tasks.
  • Supervise, guide, and mentor all maintenance functions and up to 12 personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly oversee the maintenance organization of teams performing tasks in Equipment Repair, Preventative Maintenance Service Scheduling, Warranty Management, Procurement Contract Support, and Maintenance Logistics (data analysis, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis).
  • Manage vendor relationships throughout the maintenance cycle post-procurement.
  • Collaborate with other team leaders (e.g., finance, procurement, operations) to ensure seamless operations across departments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant maintenance support experience, preferably in a large-scale contracting environment.
  • Must pass a CBP Background Investigation (BI).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct diverse programs and tasks within daily contract activities.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • General understanding of Purchase Orders, Terms and Conditions, FAR Clauses, and government regulations.
  • Comprehension of the distinctions between Procurement and Maintenance operations, internal capabilities versus vendor requirements, and the Maintenance Dispatch function versus Maintenance operations.
  • Budget management skills to support the Operations Manager.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level.
