Project Manager

Fred Smith Company is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee the financial performance and overall management direction of one or more multi-million-dollar construction projects. This management position requires a strong understanding of engineering standards and the ability to plan and formulate construction projects according to project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain all project-related documentation and correspondence.
- Collaborate with field management to ensure successful resolution of issues between the project plan and site execution.
- Monitor project progress and maintain timely knowledge of what is occurring on the project.
- Execute authority over issue resolution related to project plan and implementation.
- Collaborate with the General Superintendent to plan for and organize project staff according to project requirements.
- Ensure clear roles and responsibilities are communicated to the entire project team.
- Conduct weekly meetings with the project team to review scheduling and costing.
- Develop and manage against project budget to ensure project meets projected margins.
- Conduct ongoing financial projections of project performance throughout the project life.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (4 years) - Preferred.
- Three to Five years of job experience in an Engineer, Assistant Project Manager or Superintendent or higher field role with relevant, large scale heavy highway projects.
- Professional license, certifications and contractor's licenses - preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Heavy Job.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Strong leadership & management skills.
- Ability to adapt and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
- Must have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety Course within the last 5 years.
