Job Summary

Glen Raven Material Solutions is seeking a skilled Customs Compliance Specialist to support the Customs Compliance Manager in tasks related to imports and exports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. Customs laws and regulations, as well as experience in classification, valuation, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and communicate with internal and external parties to facilitate timely movement of import and export shipments.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on customs compliance and import/export related inquiries.
  • Provide support with classification, valuation, FTA qualification, and documentation requests.
  • Pursue continuing improvements to processes.
  • Work with shippers, freight forwarders, logistics service-providers, and customs brokers to ensure accurate information and documentation.
  • Audit import entries filed by customs brokers and provide direction for corrections.
  • Maintain recordkeeping database for customs compliance documentation.
  • Write and monitor SOPs to keep up-to-date with current processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and training.
  • CCS certification, Licensed Customs Broker, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in customs compliance or import/export operations experience, preferably in the textile or apparel industries.
  • Working knowledge of global trade regulations, including Customs Regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
  • Experience in classifying merchandise and working with USMCA, CAFTA, and other FTAs.
  • Strong analytical and math skills, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
