Project Engineer Job Description

Hoyle Tanner and Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Northeast Municipal Engineering Services Group (NEME).

This is a full-time position based out of our offices in New Hampshire or Vermont, with the option to work remotely. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering infrastructure and civil engineering projects, including site design, grading, stormwater management, and treatment design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare calculations, layouts, modeling, estimates, drawings, and specifications under the direction of senior engineers and project managers.
  • Lead and guide junior engineers and CADD teammates.
  • Work as part of an integrated, multi-discipline team to solve technical challenges.
  • Use software and other tools to develop designs and organize work.
  • Gather, research, and maintain engineering data records, including tests, drawings, and field data.
  • May attend site visits and meetings with clients and contractors.
  • May be responsible for construction observation and limited administration.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 4-9 years of experience in a project engineer role.
  • PE licensure in one or more of the following: NH, VT, with the ability to obtain reciprocal licenses in other New England states.
