Position Overview

Rimon is a rapidly expanding international law firm seeking a Legal Conflicts Specialist to conduct conflicts assessments for new business initiatives and new hire inquiries across the firm. This position offers a fully remote work environment, promoting a balanced work-life dynamic within our growing team. The role is integral to the Conflicts Department and the Associate General Counsel, assisting in the evaluation of new business proposals and new talent requests, including inquiries about existing and prospective clients, as well as requests for external publications and proposals.

The Legal Conflicts Specialist is expected to possess a solid grasp of fundamental litigation principles, business structures, and financing concepts. This position requires the ability to make and convey challenging decisions, manage multiple intricate scenarios, and deliver high-quality work under pressure. The primary duty involves providing analysis and direction regarding potential conflicts of interest associated with new business and talent acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conflicts Evaluation: Review conflict reports related to new business and potential hires, engage confidentially with internal stakeholders and prospective hires, and utilize ethical walls and screens to ensure a thorough onboarding process for new talent and business.
  • Business Intake Support: Collaborate with other department members to respond promptly to inquiries, ensuring all relevant information from communications is integrated into the analysis.
  • Waiver Management: Work with team members to draft, send, and monitor the receipt of waivers as necessary.
  • Ethical Wall Management: Collaborate with colleagues to establish, oversee, and dismantle ethical walls.
  • Database Oversight: Rectify inconsistent party information in requests, assist in identifying additional parties, and undertake large-scale projects to reconcile data in the conflicts database.
  • System Maintenance: Address inquiries from staff regarding intake and conflicts software, provide comprehensive training for new hires, and maintain detailed instructional documents tailored to various audiences.
  • Additional Duties: Propose process improvements, policy changes, and solutions to enhance service delivery and compliance with firm policies. Engage in regular team meetings and training sessions, collaborating effectively with other departments.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree and bar membership in at least one jurisdiction required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a conflicts attorney role.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000.
