GENERAL OVERVIEW


The VP of Credit Analysis plays a crucial role in the loan management process by offering credit and loan analytical expertise to a team of Commercial Loan Officers. This position involves assessing potential loan transactions and evaluating the creditworthiness of borrowers. The officer prepares comprehensive credit analyses and provides informed opinions and recommendations regarding proposed credit and associated risks.

It is essential to ensure that all due diligence and background evaluations are meticulously completed for loan requests to facilitate credit approval.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts thorough reviews of existing loan exposures, proposed credit extensions, and financial documentation; evaluates credit structures and terms; identifies sources and uses of funds; and analyzes industry data, competitive factors, historical performance, projected outcomes, risks, and mitigating strategies.

In collaboration with the Account Officer, engages directly with borrowers as necessary to gather additional information and clarify financial materials.

Recommends credit alternatives and innovative structuring solutions, ensuring compliance with portfolio risk standards. Prepares detailed credit approval reports.

Maintains current knowledge of all lending policies and regulations within the organization. Consults with relevant personnel regarding new and existing lending requirements and regulatory updates.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred. Intermediate accounting knowledge is required.

Experience:
Demonstrated expertise in credit analysis, accounting practices, credit procedures, and financial statement evaluation.

A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in analyzing and underwriting medium to complex commercial credit (C&I or CRE transactions), including financial statement analysis, cash flow evaluation, and familiarity with various industries, collateral considerations, loan structuring, and analysis of personal financial statements and tax returns.

A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in authoring credit approval reports.

Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of commercial credit policies and procedures. Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills to present clear and precise recommendations based on loan structure analysis.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, interacting effectively with all levels of personnel and external contacts. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and financial analysis software.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
$100K - $135K annually

Compensation is determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
