Position Overview:
The Nurse Manager for Infusion Services oversees and directs the personnel assigned to the outpatient infusion services and oncology clinic.
This role encompasses all facets of daily operations within infusion services and the oncology clinic, ensuring that patient care is delivered effectively by employing nursing processes and principles of continuous quality enhancement in collaboration with the healthcare team.
The manager is tasked with various responsibilities to guarantee that quality and regulatory standards are consistently met, while also supporting the Director of Pharmacy and Oncology in addressing the needs of both staff and patients.
Onboarding and training for oncology and infusion staff fall under the purview of this position. The Nurse Manager is accountable for outpatient infusion services, including chemotherapy administration and the processing of oral specialty medication prescription authorizations.
Proficiency in IV insertions for adults, management of PICC lines and Port-a-Caths, phlebotomy, blood transfusions, and conducting nursing assessments is essential.
- Acts as a liaison between staff and external departments/providers to ensure that both employee and patient needs are effectively met.
Must demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and initiative, with the ability to work independently. Experience with Cerner EMR is required.

Education/Training:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program. A BSN or MSN is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered nurse is preferred, with required experience in infusion and oncology settings. Special Skills, Licenses, or Certifications: Registered nurse license valid in Colorado.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, are required. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential. BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred. ONS Chemo/Bio Certification is required, with ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus. Strong listening skills and the ability to articulate thoughts clearly in both spoken and written forms are essential.
Physical/Mental/Special Demands:
Ability to walk rapidly for 90% of the time, work at heights of 24-40 inches, and assist in transferring adult patients. Must be capable of lifting, moving, and positioning weights exceeding 50 pounds. Adequate hearing and vision are required to perform essential job functions.
Work involves the use of computers, requiring exposure to monitors and repetitive motions for extended periods. Must be able to initiate CPR effectively and possess fine motor skills consistently. The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions is necessary. Candidates must demonstrate dependability, self-motivation, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Work Environment:
This position is based in an outpatient infusion setting, which may involve exposure to work-related stress, environmental factors, and frequent interruptions. The noise level is moderate, and there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases. Daily communication with the public, co-workers, vendors, and patients is a key aspect of the role.
Potential liabilities may arise from public awareness, chemical exposure, and equipment hazards.
