Job Summary

Foundation Communities Inc is seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring all vacated apartments are thoroughly restored to market-ready status and that service requests are completed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Inventory Management
    • Manage and monitor parts, supplies, and equipment inventory to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any maintenance issues.
  • Support to Maintenance Staff
    • Provide assistance and support to other maintenance staff members as needed.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding promptly to their maintenance requests and concerns.
    • Ensure that all interactions with residents are professional, courteous, and respectful.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Participate in quarterly property inspections to identify areas for improvement.
    • Remove trash from outside the property each shift.
    • Assist the Lead Maintenance as needed.
    • Clean vacant apartments to ensure they are ready for new residents.
    • May be required to work at other Foundation Communities properties in the Austin area as needed.
    • Required to be on call.
    Requirements
    • Experience and Skills
      • 2-4 years of practical experience in maintenance, with demonstration of required skills.
      • Ability to work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature, requiring judgment to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.
    • Education and Certifications
      • Fair housing training and certification for Apartment Maintenance Technician.
      • Additional certifications (i.e. HVAC).
      • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
    • Working Conditions
      • Occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials can be expected.
      • May be asked to clean up bodily fluids with appropriate training and personal protective equipment provided.
    • Physical Requirements
      • Constantly: standing/walking, bending/stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, grasping/gripping, reaching above the shoulder, climbing, lifting between 0 and 25 pounds.
      • Frequently: coordination of hand/eye/foot, finger dexterity, lifting between 26 and 50 pounds.
      Compensation and Benefits

$19.00/hour
