Job Overview

The Housekeeping Attendant collaborates with the Housekeeping Management Team to support Room Attendants across designated floors or buildings. Responsibilities include collecting soiled linens and transporting them to the laundry area, delivering fresh linens to Room Attendant carts, and managing waste throughout the hotel premises. The role may also involve assisting with laundry operations and maintaining cleanliness in public areas, hotel entrances, and parking facilities. Special projects may be assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional service in all interactions with guests and clients, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Assist Room Attendants with heavy items, including mattresses and linens, and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in floor closets and corridors, including trash removal and floor maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries.
  • Clean designated areas such as public restrooms and storage rooms.
  • Report maintenance needs or safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Address special requests and guest complaints to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Minimize waste of supplies and amenities in all housekeeping areas.
  • Handle lost and found items according to established protocols.
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
  • When assigned to laundry duties, monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers, and inspect linens for damage.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through effective communication with other shifts and departmental management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred.
  • Experience in the extended stay industry is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is preferred; knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills are preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
  • Capability to lift or carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning chemicals is required.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
