Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Foundation Communities. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, providing excellent customer service to our residents, and working collaboratively with our maintenance staff to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and monitor parts, supplies, and equipment inventory to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Provide support to all other maintenance staff, including assisting with service requests and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Participate in quarterly property inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Remove trash from outside each shift to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist the Lead Maintenance as needed, including covering shifts and providing backup support.
  • Clean vacant apartments to ensure they are ready for new residents.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all residents, responding promptly to their needs and concerns.
  • May be required to work at other Foundation Communities properties in the Austin area as needed.
  • Required to be on call to respond to maintenance emergencies.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of practical experience in maintenance, with demonstration of required skills.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature, requiring judgment to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.
  • Make-ready experience is helpful, with a good understanding of pools, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
Preferred Requirements
  • Fair housing training and certification for Apartment Maintenance Technician.
  • Additional certifications, such as HVAC.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
Working Conditions

An occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials can be expected. May be asked to clean up bodily fluids with appropriate training and personal protective equipment provided.

Physical Requirements
  • Constantly: standing/walking, bending/stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, grasping/gripping, reaching above the shoulder, climbing, lifting between 0 and 25 pounds.
  • Frequently: coordination of hand/eye/foot, finger dexterity, lifting between 26 and 50 pounds.
Compensation

$19.00/hour

Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform job-related duties as may be reasonably assigned by his/her supervisor.
