Role Overview: The Technical Accounting Manager will take charge of various technically intricate and high-risk processes in collaboration with corporate accounting. This position involves ensuring the accurate application of ASC 718 Stock Compensation, ASC 470 Debt, ASC 740 Income Taxes, ASC 350 Intangibles - Goodwill & Other, ASC 805 Business Combinations, transfer pricing, and other specialized accounting matters. The role will also support ad-hoc technical accounting initiatives and will be highly visible within the organization, ensuring compliance with US GAAP for new company-wide projects. This position is a vital part of the corporate accounting team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical accounting challenges, ensuring accurate treatment in financial statements and documenting accounting positions in memorandums.
  • Oversee the financial statement close for equity, transfer pricing, business combinations, and other non-routine processes.
  • Maintain the organization's technical accounting policies and ensure global compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of the entire stock option lifecycle, including issuing grants, processing exercises and forfeitures, and accounting for share-based compensation.
  • Act as the primary user and business owner for specific financial systems, including Certent for share-based compensation and Lease Accelerator for lease accounting.
  • Engage in all compliance-related matters, including yearly financial statement audits, statutory audits, tax provisions, and tax returns.
  • Support M&A activities, including accounting for business combinations and integration efforts for acquired entities.
  • Collaborate with the revenue team to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and validate revenue rules for new products and services.
  • Stay informed on new accounting pronouncements and lead the implementation of necessary changes in accounting policies and practices.
  • Document internal controls over financial reporting by performing walkthroughs, identifying risks and controls for all significant accounts and processes.
  • Execute ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA designation is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with Big 4 and in the SaaS industry.
  • Experience with modern software and systems, particularly NetSuite, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts related to international accounting and mergers and acquisitions is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and across geographies with diverse teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively relate and communicate across all levels of staff within and outside the department.
  • Hands-on, energetic, organized, and a team player with a proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment, multitask effectively, and work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, quickly assess requirements, and analyze processes to simplify, automate, and enhance efficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with a strong sense of business ethics.
