This collaborative group includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, therapists, nurses, chiropractors, physical therapists, pharmacists, and dedicated support staff. Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct assessments of nutritional needs, dietary restrictions, and health plans to formulate and implement dietary care strategies and provide nutritional guidance.
  • Approve patient menus and nutritional supplements.
  • Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary modifications, and food selection and preparation.
  • Perform nutritional assessments in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Review and validate menus created by the facility.
  • Educate individuals and groups on fundamental nutrition principles, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to enhance their quality of life.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare personnel to ascertain the nutritional needs and dietary restrictions of patients.
  • Participate in treatment team discussions as appropriate.
  • Annually review and approve the facility's diet manual in conjunction with medical staff.
  • Promote health by delivering presentations on diet, nutrition, and the connection between healthy eating habits and the prevention or management of specific diseases.
  • Oversee food service operations to ensure compliance with nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field suitable for licensure.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Nutrition (Required).
  • Experience with Eating Disorders and Substance Abuse is preferred.
Licenses/Designations/Certifications:
  • Current registered dietitian status or eligibility for endorsement by the state in which services are provided.
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification as required by state or facility.
  • Registered Dietitian Certification (Required).
