ROLE OVERVIEW

We are in search of a dedicated Licensed Nutrition Specialist to contribute to our healthcare team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assess and monitor the nutritional health of residents, providing insights to medical personnel and formulating comprehensive care plans.
  2. Identify and address the unique nutritional needs of residents, including those with skin integrity issues and significant weight fluctuations.
  3. Oversee the acquisition of nutritional support products and oral supplements in collaboration with external suppliers and relevant department heads.
  4. Ensure that meal services for residents adhere to prescribed dietary modifications.
  5. Provide education to residents, their families, and staff regarding nutrition and dietary adjustments.
  6. Regularly review and assess Dietary Care plans to guarantee the highest standards of care.
  7. Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings to evaluate and refine residents' care plans.
  8. Collaborate closely with Speech-Language Pathologists to ensure appropriate dietary provisions for residents with swallowing difficulties.
  9. Review menu alterations to ensure compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations.
  10. Update dietary orders and menu changes in the computer system on a daily basis.
  11. Supervise and collaborate with the dietary team to ensure exceptional care for residents.
  12. Conduct regular audits in areas related to quality nutrition care.
  13. Ensure adherence to regulations and policies regarding weight monitoring.
  14. Engage in daily communication with the interdisciplinary team to maintain high-quality care for residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid Registered Dietitian credential.
  • Experience in a nursing home setting is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including EMR software and menu management systems.
