The Nutritional Culinary Specialist will operate under the guidance of the Culinary Manager and Dietary Manager. This role requires expertise in various aspects of food preparation, including:

  • Food production and quality control
  • Inventory management
  • Kitchen safety and sanitation
  • Equipment operation and maintenance
  • Adherence to food safety standards
  • Preparation of therapeutic diets and modified textures

The specialist will assist in ordering and receiving supplies as needed and is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment while supporting dietary aides.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and have a minimum of two years of culinary experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication.

Additional Requirements
Candidates should be available to work weekends and holidays with flexible scheduling. Knowledge of diverse cooking techniques, ingredients, and safety regulations is crucial. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team is necessary, along with the physical capability to stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
Current ServSafe certification or Food Handler certification is highly desirable.
