We are currently seeking a committed Clinical Nutrition Specialist to contribute to our healthcare team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assess and monitor the nutritional health of residents, providing informed recommendations to the medical team and crafting comprehensive care plans.
  2. Evaluate residents' unique nutritional needs, particularly concerning dietary support, skin integrity, and significant weight fluctuations.
  3. Coordinate the acquisition of nutritional support products and oral supplements with external suppliers and relevant department heads.
  4. Oversee meal service to ensure adherence to dietary modifications.
  5. Educate residents, their families, and staff on nutrition principles and dietary adjustments.
  6. Regularly review Dietary Care plans for effectiveness to maintain high standards of care.
  7. Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings to assess and modify residents' care plans.
  8. Collaborate closely with Speech-Language Pathologists to ensure appropriate diets for residents with swallowing difficulties.
  9. Review all menu alterations to guarantee compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations.
  10. Update diet orders and menu changes in computerized menu systems on a daily basis.
  11. Supervise and collaborate with the dietary team to ensure exceptional resident care.
  12. Conduct routine audits in areas pertinent to delivering quality nutritional care.
  13. Ensure compliance with regulations and policies regarding weight monitoring.
  14. Engage in daily communication with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care to residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess Registered Dietitian credentials.
  • Experience in a nursing home setting is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including EMR software and menu management systems.
