Position Overview:

The Nutritional Culinary Specialist will ensure prompt, friendly, and efficient service to all residents and staff. Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety, as well as preparing and presenting quality meals. This role involves ordering, receiving, and rotating stock in collaboration with the Food Service Director, and following recipes to guarantee product consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as designated.
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding the dining expectations of residents.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation.
  • Perform additional relevant tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Essential Skills:

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
  • Understanding of special dietary needs and meal preparation methods.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Conflict resolution and customer service skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adherence to food safety and equipment safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of community quality standards and compliance.
  • Short order cooking skills.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and self-motivation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one year of cooking experience, including short order and quantity cooking.
  • Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
