Are you passionate about supporting our Nation's Heroes? Avosys is currently seeking a Registered Dietitian to deliver outpatient nutrition services to military personnel and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional nutrition services and programs to all eligible government beneficiaries, including active duty military, their families, DoD civilians, and retirees.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and assess all Health and Wellness Center (HAWC) nutrition-related education programs and services in line with Air Force guidelines and community needs.
- Conduct nutrition assessments, provide dietary prescriptions and counseling, and manage comprehensive nutrition prevention programs and chronic disease management protocols.
- Act as the nutrition consultant for the Director of Base Medical Services and collaborate with various Air Force community agencies.
- Work with HAWC staff to provide programs in diverse community settings, including individual unit worksites and community facilities.
- Implement nutrition policies and program requirements as directed by the Air Force Surgeon General and other relevant authorities.
- Assess the nutritional needs of the base population using sound epidemiological principles and prioritize appropriate nutrition education and clinical protocols.
- Utilize evidence-based nutrition education and behavior change theories to develop, coordinate, and evaluate comprehensive nutrition programs aimed at improving health and preventing disease.
- Research and maintain educational materials and techniques necessary for effective nutrition program delivery.
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for clients referred from the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and establish nutrition-related chronic disease management protocols.
- Ensure data quality management and reporting requirements are met during program execution.
- Document nutrition education and therapy in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
- Serve as the expert consultant for nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy to support the Air Force Fitness Program.
- Facilitate the development and evaluation of nutrition-related training programs for professional staff.
- Participate in strategic planning to align Health Promotion Program goals with Air Force objectives.
- Communicate and coordinate nutrition programs with local leadership and beneficiaries.
- Employ social marketing tools to achieve program goals.
- Engage in teleconferences, updates, and symposiums related to nutrition education and programming.
- Deliver educational sessions and wellness programs as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in wellness or nutrition education.
- A Master's degree in nutrition education, health promotion, or community nutrition is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of dietetics principles and practices, particularly in medical nutrition therapy.
- Proficiency in planning, implementing, and evaluating nutrition programs.
- Understanding of chronic diseases and their management through nutrition.
- Familiarity with behavior change theories and strategies for promoting healthy lifestyles.
- Knowledge of marketing principles to effectively promote nutrition programs.
- Experience in adult learning theory and conducting nutrition education sessions.
- Strong understanding of human behavior and motivational strategies.
- Familiarity with evidence-based nutrition education approaches.
- Knowledge of the functions of Military Treatment Facilities and relevant accreditation standards.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for documentation and presentations.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certification in Adult Weight Management by the American Dietetic Association (ADA) or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire. Certification in childhood and adolescent weight management is a plus.
- Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
