Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Catering Lead to join our team at CAVA - Snider Plaza. As a Catering Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and distribution of catering orders, leading and mentoring staff, and ensuring the accuracy of orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu coordination for vendors and in-house websites, including validation of pricing, descriptions, and photos.
  • Catering Portal management and coordination to ensure current information and support sales team with requests and challenges.
  • Vendor management, including reporting, tracking, communication, and subject matter expertise for each vendor.
  • Responsible for the entire guest experience, upholding food safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to cross-train across the restaurant to ensure rapid growth.
  • Lead and mentor catering staff, occasionally assist with delivery of orders as assigned.
  • Assist with any additional duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to effectively ask fact-finding questions both in person and via phone to uncover potential from all customers.
  • Ability to work and lead effectively with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Must have excellent time management and priority management skills.
  • High attention to detail, exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated to success with passion and a sense of urgency.
  • Previous experience in a similar position or in the restaurant business is helpful but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to bend and reach overhead often.
  • Must possess dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment.
  • Must be comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.
  • Must be comfortable working near open flames.
  • May be required to work in tight spaces.
  • Must maintain near constant communication with multiple people.
  • Close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision is required.
  • Must be able to sit, squat, and kneel occasionally.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • May be required to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions.
