Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our Catering Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring that all aspects of the business are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of exempt staff across various departments, including food production, transportation, equipment processing, and quality assurance.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customer requirements and specifications are met, including production processing, on-time performance, equipment inventory, and quality assurance controls.
  • Business Objectives: Drive business objectives and goals related to food costs, labor costs, sanitation, quality assurance, market track goals, and airline goals and objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all regulatory requirements, including HACCP, FDA, local airport, and quality assurance standards, are maintained at the highest level.
  • Menu Cycles: Monitor and manage menu cycles to ensure customer service and satisfaction are not interrupted.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that proper equipment is maintained and controlled in the unit for operational excellence.
  • Training and Development: Monitor and support training programs to ensure all corporate policies and procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Employee Relations: Monitor employee relations in each department and ensure compliance with national master and local addendum labor agreements.
  • Customer Audits: Support customer audits and government audits to ensure compliance.
  • Performance Evaluations: Conduct annual performance evaluations of direct reports in compliance with corporate initiatives.
  • Communication: Maintain customer communication with local and corporate airline representatives to ensure all requests, investigations, and related matters are concluded to the satisfaction of the customer and company.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Work Experience: Successful track record as a manager or assistant manager in airline catering is required. 10+ years of experience in in-flight catering or food manufacturing environment is also required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft office tool skills (Excel, Word) and knowledge of quality auditing and inspection methods are required.
  • Language/Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with multiple departments and customers are required.
