About the Role

The Port of Seattle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Strategic Economic Development Director. This role will play a critical part in driving economic growth and development at the Port, maximizing opportunities and making Seattle's gateways for international travel and commerce competitive and successful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Economic Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive economic development plans to drive growth and expansion at the Port.
  • Lead Real Estate Development Efforts: Oversee the development and acquisition of real estate properties to support the Port's economic development goals.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and community organizations, to advance the Port's economic development objectives.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various teams, including the Executive Director, Maritime and Aviation divisions, Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and External Relations, to ensure alignment and effective implementation of economic development strategies.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Progress: Track and analyze key performance indicators to measure the success of economic development initiatives and make data-driven decisions to optimize results.
Requirements
  • 10+ Years of Economic Development Experience: Proven track record of leading economic development initiatives and driving growth in a similar role.
  • Senior Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams, with a strong understanding of business development and strategy.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions to drive economic growth.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, communicate effectively, and collaborate with diverse teams.
