Job Summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Trainer to support the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) security assistance program focused on building international peacekeeping capacity in Zambia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead various peacekeeping-related contract training requirements specified in the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for foreign security partners.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and international organizations to design and implement training initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations to ensure training effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 15 cumulative years of military experience, including combat arms battalion/brigade staff officer experience.
  • Attainment of military grade O4 and higher (or NATO equivalent).
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force capacity building experience in the last 5 years.
  • Experience as a senior trainer, military or civilian, to a foreign security partner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commanded a combat arms battalion-level unit in the military land forces.
  • Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Battalion and/or brigade staff experience while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation.
  • UN peacekeeping operations experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to maneuver around and see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and contractors.
  • Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.
  • Requires some physical exertion, such as walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces as well as time spent outdoors in extreme temperatures and variable weather conditions.
Work Environment

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Occasional travel may be required.
