Lead Technical Writer and Research Coordinator

The Senior Technical Writer and Research Specialist plays a crucial role within the organization, delivering expert research and documentation support to facilitate the effective functioning of the division. Reporting directly to the Division Chief, this position encompasses a diverse range of tasks aimed at ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develop and revise comprehensive documentation for new initiatives and updates, providing clear guidance on associated processes.
- Formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other essential procedural documents.
- Conduct thorough internal audits to verify compliance with established SOPs.
- Assist in financial analysis efforts led by the Operations Coordinator, concentrating on identifying and rectifying issues that impact financial integrity.
- Generate monthly financial reports utilizing advanced skills in MS Excel to ensure accurate financial reconciliation.
- Participate in meetings and produce concise summaries, ensuring accurate documentation and distribution of meeting minutes.
- Create training outcome reports using the training database to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
- Compile Weekly Activity Reports (WAR) from team members to generate the final Division Report for review and submission to senior management.
- Oversee central document control and maintain a technical resource library for streamlined access to critical materials.
- At least two years of experience in a Technical Writer/Researcher role or a comparable position.
- U.S. citizenship with the capability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- A Bachelor’s degree coupled with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or a combination of seven years of writing experience and pertinent certifications/education.
- Exceptional organizational skills and outstanding communication abilities to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities for technical documentation.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles is preferred.
- Familiarity with government procurement processes is advantageous.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
