Position Overview

SAIC is actively seeking experienced Senior Systems Engineers or Principal Systems Engineers with a focus on signals intelligence to contribute to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM). This role is situated within the Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, specifically in the Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch (C5ISR-QRC). The primary mission of the C5ISR-QRC is to innovate and develop technologies that streamline processes for gathering, organizing, and utilizing information to enhance understanding of adversaries and their environments during comprehensive operations.

Work Location: This position requires on-site presence in Aberdeen, MD. Relocation assistance may be available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering services throughout the entire lifecycle of design, from initial concept to final production, including prototype development, validation, verification, and quality assurance.
  • Evaluate emerging requirements and create technical concepts and implementation strategies to swiftly address organizational priorities and program goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop solutions within a systems integration laboratory (SIL) and manage the mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and systems in accordance with specified requirements.
  • Conduct site assessments to gather essential data for studies and designs.
  • Collaborate with various engineering and non-engineering disciplines, as well as suppliers, to devise design solutions and tackle technical challenges.
  • Review engineering proposals, design documents, specifications, and other technical submissions, providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Utilize and annotate Qualification Test Plans, Performance Test Plans, Safety/Hazard Characterization Test Plans, and related documentation.
  • Address change requests from clients, manufacturers, or suppliers.
  • Perform reliability analyses and implement safety engineering processes on systems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • We are looking for candidates at multiple levels:
    • Principal: Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years or more of relevant experience; four (4) years of experience may substitute for a degree.
    • Senior Principal: Bachelor's degree with fourteen (14) years or more of relevant experience; four (4) years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Security Clearance:

  • A Top Secret Clearance is necessary to commence employment; a TS/SCI Security Clearance is required to maintain employment.

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of three years of direct experience in signals intelligence or related fields, including industry (development contractor), DoD, or other agency backgrounds (NRO, NGA, NSA, etc.).
  • Strong foundation in Agile development methodologies and proficiency with the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence), with the capability to influence the transition to Agile practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Project and Visio.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with customers and stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation: The target salary range for this position is $120,001 - $160,000, reflecting the typical salary range based on experience and other relevant factors.
