Ophthalmic Assistant II

UTHealth Houston is seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Assistant II to join their team of professionals in the Ophthalmology department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, preparing patients for examinations and diagnostic testing, and assisting physicians with surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare exam rooms for patients, maintaining instruments and equipment to ensure a sterile environment.
- Prepare patients for physician exams, performing testing as needed and according to physician preference.
- Assist in organizing and planning patient care, including procedures and diagnostic testing.
- Maintain the operating room according to sterile technique, scrubbing, gowning, and gloving procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the team.
Requirements:
- Current Ophthalmic Assistant Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) or CPR Certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology, or completion of an accredited program in Ophthalmology.
