We are seeking an Ophthalmic Care Assistant II to become a vital part of our Ophthalmology department. Position Responsibilities:
The Ophthalmic Care Assistant II plays a crucial role in supporting physicians by preparing patients for examinations and diagnostic tests.
Key Duties Include:
- Setting up examination rooms and maintaining medical instruments and equipment.
- Preparing patients for physician evaluations and conducting tests as needed.
- Assisting in the coordination of patient care and follow-up, including procedures and diagnostic tests.
- Maintaining sterile conditions in the operating room and adhering to proper scrubbing, gowning, and gloving protocols.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA, COT, or COMT) or CPR certification is required.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology is required. Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology program may substitute for experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
Security Considerations:
This position may involve security-sensitive responsibilities as defined by Texas Education Code.
Residency Requirement:
Employees must reside and work in Texas.
