Job Opportunity

UTHealth Houston is seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Assistant II to join their team of professionals in the Ophthalmic Diagnostic Imaging section.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for examination and diagnostic testing, maintaining instruments and equipment, and assisting physicians with patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exam rooms for patients and maintain instruments and equipment
  • Prepare patients for physician's exam and perform testing as needed
  • Assist in organizing and planning patient care and follow-up, including procedures and diagnostic testing
  • Maintain operating room according to sterile technique and assist with surgical procedures as necessary

Requirements:

  • Current Ophthalmic Assistant Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) or CPR Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology or completion of an accredited program in Ophthalmology
