Job Summary

The Ophthalmic Assistant - Patient Care Specialist will provide high-quality patient care and support services in the ophthalmology clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support services, including vital sign collection, patient education, and preparation for examinations and procedures.
  • Assist with the maintenance of equipment, supplies, and the environment to ensure a clean and safe working area.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of related experience preferred.
  • Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.

Work Environment

The Ophthalmic Assistant - Patient Care Specialist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
