Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Employee Relations Division of Henrico County Virginia's Human Resources Department. As a Senior Employee Relations Analyst, you will be responsible for performing complex professional work, including investigations, guidance, and support to departments and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigations: Conduct high-level, complex, and sensitive investigations, prioritizing work and using good judgment to determine facts and produce quality reports in a timely manner.
  • Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and assistance to departments in conducting investigations, as well as support to supervisors and agency heads in performance management and the discipline process.
  • Testifying and Scheduling: Testify in grievances and schedule, organize, and provide information for grievance hearings.
  • Interface and Interaction: Interface and interact with all departments, including Public Safety partners, with confidence and ease.
  • Additional Duties: Manage and track military leave, update and track required posters, track, reconcile, and analyze statistical data, scan documents, organize files, respond to Virginia Employment Commission requests for information, and participate in fact-finding hearings.
Requirements
  • Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in personnel or human resources administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of professional human resources work experience in employee relations and/or investigations.
  • Skills: Strong ability to present recommendations clearly both orally and in writing, skilled in building effective relationships with County officials, employees, and the public, adept at conducting interviews, maintaining statistical records, and generating reports, proficient with computers and data systems, and demonstrates tact and courtesy.
