Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Employee Relations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide guidance, support, and training to staff and managers on employee relations, compliance, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide expert advice on complex employee relations issues.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to resolve conflicts and alleviate potential problems.
  • Provide training to supervisors, managers, and leadership on EEO laws and HR policies.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare comprehensive investigation reports.
  • Recommend proposed courses of action to management on employment issues, including claims of discrimination, employee misconduct, and dispute resolution.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in employee relations, providing guidance on complex issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state EEO laws and state HR policies.
  • Experience developing creative solutions to complex problems and circumstances.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional HR Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, etc.).
  • Experience with Commonwealth of Virginia employee relations policies and procedures.
