Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Employee Relations Specialist to provide expert guidance, support, and training to staff and managers on employee relations, compliance, policies, and procedures. This role requires a deep understanding of federal and state EEO laws, as well as the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and circumstances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide guidance on complex employee relation issues
  • Develop and implement effective employee relations strategies to prevent escalation of prohibited conduct in the workplace
  • Provide training to supervisors, managers, and leadership on EEO laws and HR policies
  • Conduct investigations and prepare comprehensive investigation reports
  • Develop and recommend proposed courses of action to management on employment issues
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in employee relations providing guidance on complex employee relation issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state EEO laws and state HR policies
  • Experience developing creative solutions to complex problems and circumstances
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional HR Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, etc.)
  • Experience with Commonwealth of Virginia employee relations policies and procedures
