Position Overview:

Job Title:
Research Scientist II (Advanced Flow Cytometry, Cellular Studies)
Duration: 12 months contract, with potential for extension up to 36 months

The organization retains the option to transition you to a permanent position at any point during or following the contract period.

Role Summary:
A highly driven professional is needed to thrive in a demanding setting within the preclinical in vivo pharmacology division.
Collaborating with in vivo colleagues to assess the effectiveness of both small and large molecule strategies aimed at mitigating specific disease outcomes through in vitro and ex vivo evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:
Proficiency in multi-color flow cytometry evaluations from ex vivo tissues or cells.
Conducting in vitro murine cell-based evaluations (utilizing cell lines or primary cells).
Collaborating with in vivo teams on experiments supporting the Inflammation & Immunology therapeutic portfolio.
Ability to work autonomously.
Strong communication and presentation capabilities.
Maintaining organized records and documentation.

Collaborative Relationships:
In vivo and in vitro preclinical biology, Flow facility, comparative medicine group, chemistry, biomedical design.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience in a scientific discipline (e.g., Microbiology, Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Animal Science).

Technical Skills Required:
  • Expertise in multi-color flow cytometry.
  • Experience in conducting in vitro evaluations: cell culture, screening assays.
  • Ex-vivo analysis and culture of cells derived from various organs.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as ELISA, Western blot, and RT-PCR.
  • Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of ex vivo pharmacology studies in rodent models.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • A high degree of adaptability and a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to analyze and present data effectively in both individual and group settings.
  • Willingness to work during weekends or after hours as needed.

Physical Requirements:
Standard working conditions involving both sitting and standing, with movement between floors and buildings as necessary.
Laboratory environment with time spent in biosafety cabinets and flow cytometry labs.
Weekend or after-hours work may be required.

Essential Skills:
Multicolor Flow Cytometry, Ex Vivo Studies, In Vitro Techniques (Assays).

Preferred Qualifications:
Interview Process:

1st virtual interview via video conferencing (camera on).
2nd onsite interview with the team.
12-month contract duration.

100% on-site work required.

Minimum Educational Requirement:
