Role Summary:
We are in search of a motivated Research Associate I/II (RA) to become a vital member of our Platform Discovery Team. The RA will be instrumental in preparing essential reagents for DECODE assays, ensuring the quality of produced materials, and conducting next-generation sequencing experiments. Responsibilities will encompass both manual tasks and the operation of liquid handling equipment. The ideal candidate will work closely with a diverse team of immunologists, molecular biologists, and protein scientists to effectively execute experiments and enhance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate, purify, and maintain in-house materials essential for DECODE platform operations.
  • Prepare reagents through manual pipetting techniques.
  • Utilize liquid handling robots for high-throughput material production.
  • Collaborate with scientific teams to perform single-cell and bulk sequencing experiments aligned with project goals.
  • Extract DNA/RNA from human samples and prepare sequencing libraries for various analyses.
  • Conduct quality control assessments, including qPCR and gel electrophoresis, to ensure data integrity.
  • Perform routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment, including sequencing instruments.
  • Collaborate with the Platform Team to evaluate process outputs and present findings at departmental meetings.
  • Manage inventory and order critical reagents to support project timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific discipline or health-related field.
  • Up to 2+ years of relevant research experience in industry or academia.
  • Strong foundation in molecular biology and laboratory techniques (PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, nucleic acid purification).
  • Familiarity with single-cell methodologies (e.g., 10X Genomics, Smart-Seq).
  • Experience with liquid handling systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of genetics, immunology, and cancer biology.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional documentation and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
