Job Summary

The Assistant Director of University Events is responsible for the strategic and logistical management of high visibility campus events. The ideal candidate will ensure all events promote a positive image of the campus and reflect the brand, values, and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements plans for complex aspects of events, focusing on strategy, goals, timeline, impact, budget, engagement, and follow-up.
  • Creates systems and procedures to enhance and streamline the event management process, including technology and publicity.
  • Liaises directly with senior management and other campus colleagues to design, recommend and provide coordination and project management to ensure complete and proper execution of details for all events.
  • Serves as a campus resource on proper execution and details of event planning, ensuring adherence to established protocols and practices.
  • Represents Community Relations and University Events on committees and advises and assists the Director of University Events on various topics, issues, and projects.
  • Maintains and supports the positive image of the campus through the successful development and management of high profile events and interactions with constituents alumni and friends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with five or more years' experience in event planning or program management.
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with senior management, staff, and constituent groups across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to independently set priorities, plan, organize, coordinate, and direct multiple concurrent projects and complex tasks.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

Salary Information:

This position offers a salary of approximately $83,000 per year, plus benefits. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development.
