Job Description:

As a Senior Yard Operations Coordinator at Hamshaw Lumber Inc, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our lumber yard. Your primary responsibilities will include dispatching loads, assisting customers, coaching and mentoring staff, and maintaining inventory control.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Build loads for delivery
  • Loading and unloading lumber and building supplies
  • Operates forklift
  • Keeps management aware of any delays or discrepancies
  • Keeps the lumber yard clean, well-organized, and safe
  • Participates in occasional deliveries
  • Participates in various duties including installation sales

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one. You should also be able to apply common sense understanding and carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Experience working in a team atmosphere is essential, as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. You must also be able to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
