Job Summary

The Insurance Verification Representative plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely patient information, insurance verification, and benefit validation. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills to work closely with various departments, including case management, payers, and provider practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify patient insurance information, including health insurance and managed care identification cards.
• Complete registrations in a professional, accurate, and timely manner, providing excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and payers.
• Maintain Baptist Health Care's goals of scheduling, registration accuracy, insurance verification, pre-registration, pre-certification, up-front collections, and other healthcare industry standards or trends.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance standards, such as HIPAA and Identity Theft "Red Flag Rules," by properly identifying patients prior to scheduling.
• Review and update patient accounts to ensure accurate and current information for claim processing and payment, including documentation of benefits, authorization information, and patient financial responsibility.
• Track productivity and provide cumulative reports as required by the department.
