Key Responsibilities

  • Generates a variety of financial reports derived from the individual submissions of team members as required by management or regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitates communication and reporting to the company's headquarters in Japan regarding project and financial information as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
  • Oversees daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and intercompany balance verifications.
  • Manages overdue accounts and analyzes discrepancies, taking timely corrective actions as necessary.
  • Supervises the preparation and auditing of financial materials, ensuring accurate data entry into the accounting system.
  • Identifies and resolves inconsistencies, implementing appropriate corrective measures.
  • Proposes enhancements and coordinates accounting policies and procedures with department heads and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Establishes work protocols, prepares schedules, and streamlines workflow, providing clear instructions to team members.
  • Offers guidance to accounting staff, reviewing their work to maintain high standards of accuracy and adherence to policies.
  • Analyzes source data and financial statements, preparing necessary journal entries and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Implements process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency in financial operations.
  • Assists in budget development and operates within financial guidelines.
  • Engages with external auditors, providing timely responses to inquiries and requests for information.
  • Conducts a variety of accounting functions, including journal entry preparation, month-end closing processes, and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for the management of capital assets and account reconciliations.
  • Performs cash flow analysis and supports operational cash management.
  • Contributes financial insights to strategic planning and operational reviews, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assists in compiling information for transfer pricing studies and implementing accounting enhancements for subsidiaries.
  • Ensures compliance with J-SOX controls and standards for assigned areas.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in Japanese is a significant advantage.
  • Extensive experience in financial accounting and managerial accounting, preferably within the automotive sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive approach to achieving results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong focus on integrity and goal orientation.
