We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Essentia Health. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and efficient patient registration process.
Key Responsibilities- Interview patients to obtain demographic and financial information, ensuring accurate and compliant patient registration and billing.
- Obtain copies of insurance cards and other forms of identification, and update patient information in the medical record as necessary.
- Perform point of service data collection, including identifying and collecting patient co-payments and down payments, and reconcile the cash drawer.
- Maintain all assigned work queues according to supervisor's instructions and guidance.
- Interact positively and in a caring manner with patients, co-workers, and others to provide highest level of customer service.
- Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and refer to clinical team as needed.
- Sanitize registration equipment between each use and restock basic supplies.
- Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience.
- Completion of Healthcare Business Insight's Patient Access 2nd Level Certification Program within six months of hire date.
