Position Overview

Location: Dallas, TX

The HVAC Operations Supervisor is responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of all HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems within designated facilities. The role aims to achieve optimal operational efficiency and longevity of equipment. The successful candidate will ensure that all systems are maintained in an energy-efficient and safe manner, minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and repair strategies. This position requires a high level of technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration, along with proficiency in electrical systems, plumbing, and piping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance:
    • Oversee and execute preventive maintenance and repair work orders for mechanical systems and equipment.
    • Manage the operation and repair of HVAC/R systems, including various types of air handling units, chilled water systems, and energy management systems.
    • Develop familiarity with equipment and methodologies essential for daily operations.
    • Propose enhancements and capital projects to improve system performance.
    • Coordinate with management regarding work orders and project priorities.
    • Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions affecting client operations.
    • Respond effectively to emergencies and perform quality assurance inspections.
    • Fulfill additional tasks as assigned.
  • Training:
    • Assess and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to enhance their skills.
    • Provide training on tool usage, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Safety:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
    • Identify and mitigate safety hazards.
    • Ensure compliance with local regulations and complete required safety training.
  • Administrative:
    • Update and manage work orders in real-time.
    • Utilize the client’s CMMS for all maintenance activities.
    • Communicate issues to management promptly.
    • Collaborate with supply chain personnel to ensure availability of necessary tools and materials.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
  • Experience: At least five years of technical experience in building engineering, with a focus on HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Skills: Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; effective communication in both written and verbal formats; ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Certifications: HVAC Technician License - State of Texas; EPA Universal License.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
