Position Summary
The HVAC Installation Supervisor will oversee a team of up to 10 HVAC Installation Technicians, ensuring their safety and guiding their daily and weekly activities. This role requires close collaboration with clients to deliver projects efficiently, adhering to budget constraints and timelines. The supervisor will manage multiple projects for various commercial retail clients while fulfilling all responsibilities associated with the Foreman role and actively participating alongside their crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular material takeoffs with precision.
- Maintain an organized inventory of onsite materials and equipment, ensuring a tidy work environment.
- Exhibit proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Translate scale measurements accurately to job site requirements.
- Fabricate Sheetmetal transitions and offsets as needed to maintain workflow.
- Set and achieve progress objectives while remaining mindful of the overall labor budget.
- Possess a solid understanding of job costing, including material price variations between vendors.
- Communicate effectively with team members and general contractors on site.
- Prepare detailed daily progress reports for timely submission to project management.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of reading drawings, specifications, installation techniques, and compliance with safety regulations.
- A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the HVAC trade is required.
- Mandatory certifications include Universal EPA, TDLR registration, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR.
- Applicants will undergo a skills assessment to gauge experience and knowledge, which will inform management decisions regarding placement and training.
- This is a hands-on supervisory role, requiring active participation in fieldwork.
- Familiarity with major HVAC components and installation methods, including:
- RTUs, VAVs, Fan Powered Boxes, Fan Coils, Split Systems, Hydronic Systems, Chillers, Boilers, Piping, Valves, Ducting, Grilles, Registers, Diffusers, Louvers, Dampers, Fans, Fire Dampers, Hoods, Roof curbs and caps, Equipment supports and Stands, Condensate and Gas systems, Stand Alone Controls, Basic knowledge of BAS/BMS/BACnet Controls, Startups Reporting, Balancing Refrigerant, VRF systems, Heaters, Air Handlers, HVLS Fans, Exhaust Systems, Line Sets, Insulation, Jacketing, Thermometers and Gauges, Filters and Filtration, Transitions and Offsets, Snaplock and Flex.
- Must be a trustworthy team player, focused on growth and safety.
Regularly required to stand and walk; capable of lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds; work environment may be noisy. Employees may need to visit customer sites as part of their duties.
