About the Role:

United Way is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Fundraising Leader to join our team as a Senior Director, Major Gifts. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing and building relationships in the community to address the health and human service needs of the community through United Way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gift Development: Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gift donors who can make gifts of $100,000 or more.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders to advance the mission of United Way.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the development team to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Donor Engagement: Participate in donor meetings, events, and other activities to engage and steward donors.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other development staff, volunteers, and United Way staff to achieve fundraising goals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience. Master's preferred.
  • Experience: Five years of experience in individual fundraising with a track record of closing major gifts in education, the human services area preferred.
  • Skills: Public speaking, understanding of people, ability to adapt to changing situations, ability to understand and analyze industry trends, sales ability, computer skills, basic math skills, and negotiation skills.
