Technology Support Specialist

**Job Summary**
Jefferson City Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated Technology Support Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing technical support for computer users and maintaining/updating work order systems.
**About the Role**
This Technology Support Specialist position will report to the Director of Technology and will be responsible for providing technical support for computer users via phone, maintaining/updating work order systems, and communicating work order priority and status to end users. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide technical support for computer users via phone, resolving issues related to user error, faulty hardware, or software/server/network problems.
- Maintain and update work order systems, ensuring accurate and timely communication of work order priority and status to end users.
- Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning computer or network devices, including printers, scanners, barcode readers, digital cameras, and other hardware devices.
- Communicate effectively with staff and students regarding maintenance of technology, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Actively monitor and report compliance with the district's technology service level agreement, ensuring high-quality technical support.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Customer service experience, with a focus on providing excellent customer support.
- Hardware troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Software troubleshooting experience, with knowledge of common software and hardware issues.
- Operating system experience, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to operating systems.
- Excellent knowledge of desktops, laptops, and other common peripheral devices, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair technical issues.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs up to a height of 4 feet occasionally, with the ability to move around the workplace as needed.
