Position Summary
This temporary appointment is a full-time role, with responsibilities assigned on a semester basis. The position is dependent on factors such as student enrollment, funding availability, and ongoing satisfactory performance.
Teaching schedules may vary each semester, and candidates should be prepared to instruct courses during evenings, weekends, summers, online, hybrid, and/or through distance education formats.
Key Responsibilities
Instruct first and second-year courses in Machining and Millwright.Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to enhancing student learning, incorporating technology into their teaching, and fostering an engaging academic environment.Deliver classes in accordance with established syllabi, outlines, and instructional resources.Maintain precise student records in line with institutional requirements.Submit necessary student documentation to the appropriate office as per the established timeline.Guide, evaluate, and assess students' learning experiences based on approved curricula and procedures.Provide academic support and guidance to students as needed.All faculty members are expected to be present on campus for 35 hours each week and engage in professional development, departmental activities, and college events as outlined in the Faculty Workload and Responsibilities Policy.Faculty may also be tasked with teaching evening, weekend, summer, online, hybrid, and dual credit courses across various campuses.
Additional Responsibilities
Engage in campus committees as required.Promote and recruit for the Machining and Millwright program.Participate in professional development opportunities, both on-campus and off.Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) with five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- Associate's degree (or higher) with five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- No degree with ten (10) years of relevant work experience, with the ability to obtain an Associate's degree within two (2) years without class overloads.
- No degree with twenty (20) years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in online teaching and relevant certification.Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management System.
