Role OverviewThe Senior Field Service Specialist will play a pivotal role in enhancing the experience of both internal and external customers at our service facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills coupled with exceptional customer service capabilities.

You will collaborate daily with our internal teams to address service requirements and coordinate with our Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineering teams.
This position demands a dynamic and resourceful leader with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, who will promote cross-functional collaboration and foster a culture of continuous improvement to support Service teams and customers within a Service center.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in supporting pre-production vehicle builds, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Travel to various locations to provide support until the local Service Center is operational.
- Operate remotely until the local service center opens, if applicable.
- Adhere to Rivian repair protocols efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Conduct or assist with diagnostics, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
- Support vehicle repairs in non-service center environments.
- Perform road tests on vehicles to ensure repair quality.
- Manage parts operations including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
- Stay current with technical skills and required training.
- Support campaigns and containment initiatives.
- Maintain accurate expense reporting as necessary.
- Deliver high-quality work and efficiency while working independently.
- Foster a collaborative spirit and team attitude in a dynamic environment.
- Provide field service support to enhance the Service organization.
- Communicate professionally in customer-facing situations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited automotive repair institution preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a traditional automotive repair setting preferred.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Competent in navigating a laptop or computer in Windows or Mac environments.
- Basic understanding of diagnosis and workflows.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with basic electricity theory regarding high and low voltage systems.
- Capable of performing tire repairs and vehicle alignments.
- Experience with hybrid repairs is a plus.
- Ability to diagnose and explain basic vehicle electronic communications, such as the CAN Bus system.
- Preferred ability to drive non-commercial trucks and trailers.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
